A late night shot of Park Street in Kolkata. The locale is the perfect example of the old and the new - old-fashioned cabs and the latest interntional cuisine restaurants/discos/pubs - one finds it all here. The picture depicts the underlying transition from the old to the new.

“We frail humans are at one time capable of the greatest good and, at the same time, capable of the greatest evil. Change will only come about when each of us takes up the daily struggle ourselves to be more forgiving, compassionate, loving, and above all joyful in the knowledge that, by some miracle of grace, we can change as those around us can change too.” - MaĆread Maguire

You never grow old - you become old by not continuing to grow.
The Murud Janjira fort is a masterpiece of architecture. Standing majestically in the middle of the sea, the fort seems to have borne the brunt of time. Yet the beauty of the fort seems to engulf everyone in its awe. This is one of the finest examples of breathtaking architecture from the previous centuries.

The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach - Henry Beston

“There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story.” - Linda Hogan
Picture clicked at Bhandardara - a beautiful hill station near Igatpuri. Bhandardara is nearly 300 kilometers from Mumbai and a trekker haven. Its lush greenery is simply breathtaking.

Picture taken on my way to airport in New Delhi. I did not get a chance to visit this spot, but this place looked like some tourist attraction as well. There were a lot of people posing and taking pictures. I was lucky to have the camera handy, and clicked this shot from the autorickshaw I was travelling in.

KC Cinema in Sector-17, Chandigarh is one of the oldest landmarks in the city. It has been there since the time I visited Chandigarh first. It was nice to see the dome shaped structure still standing tall.

I love the lush greenery in the fields, which seems like a green blanket has been spread on earth. This is the sight that greets you the moment you enter Punjab. Picture taken on board Paschim Express.

I will be posting some pictures from my recent trip to Punjab. This is the first one of the lot. I was travelling aboard the Paschim Express from Mumbai to Jalandhar. The train journey leads to many interesting and equally fascinating sights with lush green fields all around, people sitting outside their homes and watching the train pass, cows grazing near the tracks and of course, the view inside the train. This is the first time I saw people working on laptops inside the third AC compartment of my train. This picture was taken from the running train.
